Before you start
Setup
Every lab needs a Devin account and GitHub. The other connections are only needed for the labs that use them.
Required
- Sign in at app.devin.ai.
- Have a GitHub account or org where you can create repos.
- Connect GitHub under Settings → Connections → GitHub. Choose “All repositories”, or add each starter repo after you copy it. See the GitHub integration docs.
- Enter your GitHub user or org. Every lab page fills it into its links and prompt.
Optional, per lab
- SlackFor the Slack triage and watchdog labs. Connect it under Settings → Connections, then
/invite @Devinin the channels you use. See the Slack integration docs. - LinearFor the Slack triage lab. Connect it under Settings → Connections. See the Linear integration docs.
- SentryOnly if you want the production-error lab to start from a live Sentry issue. Install it from Customize → Browse marketplace, then click Connect under Customize → MCPs. See the MCP docs.
- Devin DesktopFor the voice-to-desktop lab. Download Devin Desktop.
- Devin CLIAlso works for the voice-to-desktop lab. Install it with
curl -fsSL https://cli.devin.ai/install.sh | bash, or see the Devin CLI docs. - GitHub CLIFor the six-repo audit lab, which publishes its services as separate repos. Install the GitHub CLI.
Good to know
- Some sessions pause on an approval card, for example before creating an automation, saving Knowledge or changing an environment blueprint. Approve it to let Devin continue.
- Devin keeps working when you close the tab. Start a lab, move on to the next one, and come back.
